Terms of Use

Effective October 3, 2026.

These terms govern your use of ohiosepticdirectory.com (the "site"), run by Kinetiks Consulting LLC, doing business as Ohio Septic Directory ("we" or "us"). By using the site, you agree to them. If you buy paid placement, the section on paid placement also applies to you.

What this site is

Ohio Septic Directory is an independent directory of septic pumping, installation and service companies in Ohio. We don't pump, install, inspect or repair systems, check insurance or take payment for jobs. We are not affiliated with the Ohio Department of Health or any local health district, and nothing on the site is professional, legal or engineering advice.

We do not employ, supervise or endorse the businesses listed here. If you hire one, the agreement is between you and that business, and we are not a party to it. Questions about the price, quality, timing or warranty of the work go to the business you hired.

Listing information

Listings are compiled from public sources: Google business listings, each business's own website and the Ohio Department of Health's bond lists. Ratings come from Google. Prices shown are what a business published on its own site when we read it, not quotes. We work to keep listings accurate, but information can be incomplete or out of date.

An ODH-bonded badge means we matched the business to an Ohio Department of Health bond list dated as shown. It is not a guarantee that the bond is current today, that the business is registered with your local health district, or that it is insured. No badge means we didn't find a match, not that the business is unbonded. Before you hire anyone, ask the business about its registration with your local health district.

Free listings, claims and removals

Businesses may be listed without asking us, and a basic listing is free. A business can claim its listing to correct it, or ask us to remove it through our contact page. We may ask for proof that you speak for the business before we make changes.

We decide what appears on the site. We may edit, decline, hide or remove any listing, for example when it is inaccurate, when the business does not offer the services we list, or when it appears to be a lead-referral service rather than a business that does the work.

Paid placement

Businesses can pay to appear in the Featured section at the top of certain pages. Current plans, prices and limits are on our Advertise page. Each plan covers one category (septic pumping, installation or service); a business listed in two categories pays for each one it wants featured. Paid placement changes where a listing appears. It never changes a listing's rating, its badges or what the listing says, and paid listings are always labeled Featured.

  • Payment. Payments are processed by Stripe. Monthly plans renew each month and yearly plans renew each year until you cancel.
  • Cancelling. You can cancel at any time by replying to your receipt or emailing hello@ohiosepticdirectory.com. Your placement stays active until the end of the period you have paid for, and it is not renewed after that. We do not refund partial periods.
  • Founding member price. Where offered, the founding member price takes $10 off each month of a monthly Featured plan for the first 12 months. After that, the plan renews at the regular price unless you cancel.
  • Availability. County and statewide spots are limited in number. We may decline a request, for example when spots are full or the business does not meet our listing standards.
  • Ending a placement. We may end a paid placement if the business gives us false information or breaks these terms. If we end it for a reason that is not your fault, we will refund the unused part of the period.

If you list or advertise a business

You confirm that you are authorized to act for the business and that the information you send us is accurate. If you send photos, you confirm you took them or have the right to use them, and you allow us to show them on your listing. We may decline or remove any photo. You are responsible for following the laws that apply to your work, including registering with the local health districts where you work, and for any claims you make about your services.

Using the site

Please do not copy the directory in bulk, scrape it with automated tools, send spam or false information through our forms, pretend to be someone else, or interfere with how the site works. We may block access for anyone who does.

Our content and other people's

The site's design, text, guides and the way listings are compiled belong to us. Business names, logos and trademarks belong to their owners and appear only to identify the business.

The site links to other websites, including business websites, Google Maps, government sites and Stripe's checkout. We are not responsible for those sites or their content.

Disclaimers

The site is provided "as is." To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties about it, including that listings are accurate, complete or current, or that the site will always be available.

Limits on our liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for the acts or omissions of any business listed on the site, or for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the site. Our total liability for any claim related to the site is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $100 if you paid us nothing.

Indemnity

If you list or advertise a business, you agree to cover our reasonable costs, including legal fees, if a claim is brought against us because of information you supplied or your breach of these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Franklin County, Ohio.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top. Changes to paid placement terms take effect at your next renewal.
