Privacy Policy

Ohio Septic Directory (ohiosepticdirectory.com), run by Kinetiks Consulting LLC, is an independent directory of septic pumping, installation and service companies in Ohio. This policy explains what information the site collects, why, and what you can do about it. Questions go to hello@ohiosepticdirectory.com.
The short version
- The site sets no cookies and runs no advertising or social media trackers. It counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies or identify you.
- We collect only what you send us through our forms, plus the standard request logs our hosting provider keeps.
- We do not sell personal information or share it for advertising.
Information you give us
Our claim, advertising and contact forms ask for your name and email address and, depending on the form, your role, phone number, business name and a message. We use it to answer you, confirm that you speak for a business, update listings and arrange paid placement. Form submissions are not stored on the website. They are sent to us by email through Resend, an email delivery service, and kept in our email.
Information collected automatically
The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address, browser type and the pages you request in order to deliver the site and protect it from abuse, and it keeps that data in request logs under its own retention rules.
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and see which pages are used. It does not set cookies, does not use your IP address to track you across sites and does not build a profile of you.
Cookies
The site sets no cookies. If we ever add cookies, we will update this policy first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
Payments
Businesses that buy paid placement pay through Stripe on Stripe's own checkout pages. We never see or store card numbers. Stripe tells us the payer's name, email address, the business name entered at checkout and whether the payment went through. Stripe's handling of your data is covered by the Stripe privacy policy.
Information about listed businesses
Listings are built from public sources: Google business listings, each business's own website and the Ohio Department of Health's bond lists for septage haulers, installers and service providers. Ratings shown on listings come from Google. We do not publish the email addresses or street addresses that appear on the state bond lists; a listing shows a street address only when the business shows one on Google. Some listings name a person, such as a sole proprietor.
If you are named in a listing, you can claim it to correct it, or ask us through our contact page to correct or remove it.
How we share information
We share personal information only with the service providers that run the site for us (Cloudflare for hosting and analytics, Resend for email and Stripe for payments), or when the law requires it. We do not sell it, and we do not share it with anyone for advertising.
Links to other websites
Listings link to business websites, Google Maps and government sites. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and this policy does not cover them.
How long we keep information
We keep form submissions while we need them to handle your request and keep the directory accurate, then delete them. Listing details stay published while the business is listed.
Your choices
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it. Email hello@ohiosepticdirectory.com or use our contact page. We answer within 30 days.
Children
This site is meant for businesses and the adults who hire them. It is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the effective date at the top.
